Daisy

This is my last self promo assignment. Again I wanted to get out of the studio. I was walking through the woods and the fields during the morning and saw this daisy covered in dew drops. When I got under the flower the sun came through the petals and made the dew drops show up. I used my exposure to get the background to go black. You can see the flower in the field below (my shadow is pointing to it). I LOVE being outside!

Capture: Canon EOS 10D, 90mm macro lens, exposure 1/125s at f13 ISO 100, only levels and color balance used in Photoshop

Yay! You went back to beloved nature and look what you produced! Once again you've proven that it is possible to take nature shots (and especially flowers! ahem) that are interesting and don't look like what everybody else has done. Nice work, Jess. Hopefully no migraines or carpal tunnel with these shots!

The light, composition, and focus on the daisy are very nice. Good job.

This shot is amazing Jessica, it really has caught my eye. I was showing people last night I am that impressed with it. Well done. I love how you basically shot it like that and only had do to a few minor tweaks in photoshop. Your stuff just keeps getting better and better and better.

I like your Daisy and I really like your set up shot (shadow pointer), it's clever and it has some more interesting stuff going on behind it. But now I'm going to need you to update this blog with some photos from new york!!!
