I was thrilled to be invited to photograph the wedding of Jenn and Grant. Jenn was the perfect bride, Grant was a charming groom, and this was a beautiful wedding! The setting was a rustic Bed and Breakfast called Rock Quarry Farm that was surrounded by forest in Chapel Hill, NC. Like many spring days, the rain was threatening to fall all day, but mostly held off until the tented reception, allowing the outdoor ceremony to continue under the towering spring green trees.
I loved all of the details... the amazing dress she picked up in Atlanta was designed by San Patrick, the flowers were created by Becky from Tre Bella, the cake was baked by Nancy at Once In A Blue Moon. Grant's mom played "Annie's Song" by John Denver, and my friend Leah Adams helped take the photos (hers is the last image with the couple kissing in front of the barn.) Also, thanks to Triangle Catering for the amazing food.. yum! I know many others came together to make this wedding spectacular, including her family. It was wonderful Jenn and Grant, thank you so much for having me there!

We have been eagerly awaiting the birth of my sister's first baby and my parent's first grandchild. Yesterday, five days overdue, baby Benjamin decided it was time! I was coming into town to give my uncomfortable sister company, but by the time I arrived, she was already in labor! Katie, Jay, mom and I got to the hospital at around two, other family members arrived shortly, and around 8:30PM my little sweet nephew was born! These are a few of the pictures that were taken right after he came into this world. We love our little Benjamin Walter!

Bekki and Shawn are going to have their reception at the beautiful Graylyn Estates in Greensboro, NC. Naturally, they wanted to take advantage of the beautiful location to have their engagement session photos taken on a lovely spring day. Our early morning session found the geese waddling around the pond and the cherry trees backlit by the sun. I can't wait to return for the wedding!

Kate and AJ met one day at the neighborhood gas station in Randleman, or so the story goes. Naturally we had to revisit this cute gas station in the country with a perfectly red vintage Chevy to relive the day they 'met.' Kate and AJ were so much fun and so loving towards each other that this photo session, that I photographed for my friend Steve Exum, was such a breeze! After the gas station photos, we went and picked up their little dog and headed to their neighbor's beautiful land to do some more natural photos as the sun set. Please notice how the little dog didn't want to be forgotten in the last photo. Now that is puppy love!

After such a long, cold, and wet winter, it is so wonderful to see the spring ephemerals announce the start of warmer weather. On this Good Friday, I wanted to share some photographs from a walk I recently took with my friend Jessi and her baby Davin. We had a wonderful time exploring the North Carolina Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill. Thank goodness for spring!
