The Plenty!

Jessica Benton Photography LLC recently became a member of the Plenty Currency Cooperative. My support of the Plenty shows the dedication I have to supporting our local economy and offering my customers options when it comes to how they want to use their money. The Plenty is Pittsboro's local currency that is backed by Capital Bank here in town. You can learn more (and see my photographs) on the Plenty website. Or come to the Plenty Relaunch at Capital Bank on Tuesday May 12 from 9-5. That is right folks, along with the US dollar, I officially accept the Plenty currency. I will then be able to take that money and spend it locally to by my groceries and other useful local items and services. I feel honored to have a chance to support my local community in this creative method.

Caroline and Greg... a few more...

I had to post a few more pictures of this cute couple , Caroline and Greg, from their engagement photo session at Duke University. Nature reflects love.

Laughing

I photographed another wedding this past weekend with Steve Exum. Caroline was in the side room of the chapel she was getting married in and laughed at something her bridesmaids told her. She was such a lovely and graceful bride.

Caroline and Greg

I just wanted to post one set of images so far of this couple. They are getting married at the Duke Chapel in the summer, so I we had fun goofing around during their engagement session at Duke. I'm looking forward to photographing their wedding!

Baby Davin... and Mom!

You may remember this little guy from a previous post. I had photographed him sleeping in front of a window in his house. Now he is big enough to go on hikes with his mommy and daddy. On this pretty spring day, I got to hike with him too!

Simon and the Chicken

Does Easter make you think of a good spring chicken?

Simon, my housemates, and I have adopted eight baby chickens to add to our three big chickens. We love getting fresh eggs every morning and having these not so bright, but oh so cute creatures come running to us begging for scratch. These little guys were just little fuzz balls when we got them. They eat constantly and grow so much. Here she's sitting on Simon's shoulder, checking out the big world.

Palm Sunday

God's sanctuary on this peaceful and quiet Spring morning.

Biodiesel

What, did you expect beautiful pics of canola fields, with the yellow petals waving in the blue sky? Not this time. We are going straight to the cavitator. This beauty is the product of the intelligence and hard work that makes up the Piedmont Biofuels Industrial crowd. I'm always proud to have a chance to work with them.

Jill and Brandon

I photographed Jill and Brandon's wedding with Steve Exum this past Saturday in Greensboro, NC. These two were so kind and so much fun that they made the rainy spring day into a joyful wedding day. It was so wet that the poor muddy dog had to stay outside of the house and the camellias glistened beautifully in the rain. You can see an interior picture of the church they got married in in the previous post. These images are some of my favorite from the day. Everything looked so lovely that it was hard to narrow down what to post. Enjoy!

Quinceanera

I came early to the church at a wedding I was photographing last Saturday (images to be posted soon)... a service for this girl's quinceanera was just finishing. In spanish class growing up, I was always fascinated with the quinceanera, which is the celebration of a girl's 15th birthday. It is basically her debut into the adult world. I love how this girl's dress was over the top and she had a huge entourage of boys to match! Interesting stuff. I'd love to sharpen up my spanish speaking skills, which are pretty rusty at this point, and photograph a quinceanera.
