My neighbor Andrew wanted to give something nice to his wife, Kristen, for Mother's Day. Their son, Abe, had just celebrated his first birthday, so a portrait session was the perfect thing. We headed out to Duke Gardens one lovely morning to photograph their little family together. He is the cutest little busy-bee!
What do you see Abe?
A duck! Quack, quack!
Thank you so much for having me photograph you guys... Happy Mother's Day Kristen!

Pam&Orion ~ A 100% Genuine Durham Wedding
Pam and Orion are neighbors of mine here in Durham. Orion and I are on the neighborhood board together, Pam watches my little dog when I go on vacations, I marvel at their gardening skills, and I was honored to photograph their beautiful wedding! Remodeled brick mill buildings at The Cotton Room at Golden Belt provided the perfect setting for an authentic Durham Wedding.
I love these invitations by Indigo Envelope. This same bull is painted on an old tobacco warehouse adjacent to our neighborhood. They found an old postcard of Durham to include in the invite.
Pam was gorgeous, evoking old Hollywood glamour in her Sue Wong gown, and Orion made her a handsome groom. Pam's hair and makeup was done by the talented Ginger Mullins.
The perfect flower arrangements and chuppa were created by Orion's father and his partner, Cobra and Sandy. Here they are before the ceremony started.
The rings were created by Gold Works in Chapel Hill.
Pam with her parent's wedding portrait.
Before the larger ceremony, Pam and Orion signed their katuba with their family and close friends. The katuba illustration was created by Orion's father, Cobra.
The sun started setting just as the ceremony ended.
The reception hall was absolutely beautiful with lighting and music by Jeff Simpson, lovely table settings, and stunning floral designs.
The night was started with Pam and Orion's first dance.
The delightful cupcakes were created by Daisy Cakes!
Pam and Orion, you two are the sweetest most wonderful folks. Thank you so much for having Wendy and me there to photograph your wedding day. I wish you two a long and happy life together!

Welcome to NC ~ Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Day Brunch
A good ol' NC pig pickin' at The Carolina Club welcomed Eelco's European family to Kristin's home turf for the wedding weekend.
The following morning, a lovely brunch at The Weathervane allowed the two families another chance to relax and get to know one another before the big wedding festivities planned for later that day.
Thank you Allison for giving this as a gift to Kristin and Eelco. Thank you Kristin, Eelco, and family for having me. I really enjoyed being at the start of your wedding celebrations!
